Best Summer Fun on the River at Don's Fish Camp

Always a good time. It was super crowded, but the lines went quickly & the staff were friendly & efficient. Definitely a “must-do” if you are in central Texas during the summer! I just went last weekend, & I’m ready to go again!

We had such a great time floating down the river with Don's Fish Camp! They were so organized and very helpful and friendly. They provided everything that we needed at a very affordable rate, and we had a great time! Would definitely come back and do the float with them again!

This is a fun place to float the river. It’s a closer drive to Austin but we did see a snake, not sure what type in the water. It minded its own business and swam upstream around people. I recommend the Comal and Guadalupe as the water moves faster.

We were forced to drive an hour from Canyon Lake to their front door to get our $400 refund. When we called to inquire about the refund they simply said “ it is barely sprinkling here”. Drive through at least 3 flash flood warning messages to finally pull into their road to get yet another flash flood warning. I walked in ANGRY but level headed. I understand that they are on a different river system and have their own flood dam……blah blah blah. The drive back to our AirBnb was terrifying and this experience will forever leave a bad taste in my mouth for this business.

You can take your tube. Just dont inflate it bc they have hoses down at the entrance for you to blow up your tube. We went late, so there wasn't a line to air ours up. You may think the air hose won't inflate your tube, but it will. What i did was put my thumb on the side and put the nozzle in there, and the air went in just fine. The float was long enough for us. 3 hours is perfect. We got some rain and clouds, but it was still good. We didn't know anything about this place when we first got there. We should have looked it up. we had a family of about 18 float we all separated of course. Lol. But it was fun. Got stuck, but it was bound to happen. 21 per person is eh but worth it in the end it was my 11 year Olds first time and he liked it. My 6 year old not so much, which is understandable. Overall the scenery was pretty and green. Will definitely come back. Also it would be great if some people would ask if it's people's first time to tell them to go to the little station and sign in for bus pick up. Just a suggestion bc we didnt know crap with my little group.
